The ILA
The International Law Association (ILA) has been enabling encounters among scholars and practitioners since 1873, when it was created to advance the development of international law in both the public and private realms. While the ILA works through committees and study groups devoted to specific topics, its organizational basis is 67 national branch associations. Its total membership currently stands at around 5000 individuals, ranging from lawyers in private practice, academia, government and the judiciary, to non-lawyer experts from business and NGOs.
